The nutritional and bio‐active constituents, functional activities, and industrial applications of cashew (<i>Anacardium occidentale</i>): A review

Cashew nut is a globally popular not only for its delicious and crunchy flavor but also bioactive compounds, which present positive benefits to human health. Different parts of cashew have characteristic compounds. The kernel rich in fatty acids, the testa polyphenols, apple polyphenols carotenoids, phenols with aliphatic long chain are nutshell liquid. Therefore, edible part possesses wide range reported biological properties, including anti-tumor, brain health, cardiovascular cerebrovascular protection, anti-diabetic, gastroprotection, pathophysiological disorders antioxidant. On other hand, inedible cashew, liquid, could play an important role industry as surface coatings, insulating formulations so on. Hence, there considerable demands increase added value thereby exploring greater economic value.
